Fairfax County is located in Virginia, US, and borders the City of Alexandria and Arlington County. It also forms part of the suburban ring of Washington, D.C.
Several highways (Interstate 495, Interstate 66, Interstate 95, and Interstate 395) run through the county, and air connections are provided by Washington Dulles International Airport. The American Legion Bridge connects Fairfax County with Montgomery County, Maryland.
The county is particularly known for being the headquarters of several intelligence agencies including the Central Intelligence Agency, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, and the National Reconnaissance Office, as well as the National Counterterrorism Center and Office of the Director of National Intelligence, and is a location for seven Fortune 500 companies. This makes Fairfax County extremely developed economically and entrepreneurially, and residents have the ability to quickly access the latest technology.
The education system is managed by Fairfax County Public Schools. Over 50% of the county budget goes to this goal. Fairfax County also emphasizes the development of arts and culture, as well as the protection of nature and the environment. There are also national protected areas such as Elizabeth Hartwell Mason Neck National Wildlife Refuge and the George Washington Memorial Parkway.
